”The lost children is a new release from Disturbed and is a collection of B-sides and rarities. The album includes a previously unreleased track, \u201cMine,\u201d and \u201c3,\u201d which was as a benefit track for the West Memphis Three. Other tracks on this B-side collection include \u201cGod of the Mind\u201d and \u201cA Welcome Burden,\u201d which appeared on the 2010 reissue of the band\u2019s 2000 debut album The Sickness; \u201cMonster,\u201d \u201cTwo Worlds,\u201d and \u201cSickened,\u201d which were included as bonus tracks on the UK tour edition of Ten Thousand Fists; \u201cRun,\u201d which was featured on a limited-edition version of 2008\u2019s Indestructible; and \u201cParasite,\u201d which appeared on the Japanese edition of Indestructible.<\/p>\n
There are two cover versions on the album. The first is ”Midlife crisis”, originally by Faith no more. It’s clearly recognisable as disturbed, but equally its still recognisable as a faith no more song.<\/p>\n
The last track on the album is a cover of the Judas Priest classic, ”Living after midnight”. It’s a good version of it – they haven’t messed around and tried to do anything different with it, it’s just a well done straight cover of the original.<\/p>\n
It seems odd timing to release a compilation of rarities a few months after the band they are going on an indefinite hiatus,and does raise the inevitable cynical suggestions that the label is cashing in with one last release in case the band splits permanently.<\/p>\n
So, is the album worth getting? I think it will appeal to the bands hardcore fans, but for other people I’m not sure how much it will appeal. There are some good songs on the album, but it doesnt feel like a proper album, more a collection of leftovers thrown together.<\/p>\n
