During his career he sang for Rainbow and Black Sabbath, as well as his own eponymous band (Dio). With his incredible vocal range he sang some of the real classic songs in rock and metal

Three of the Dio albums – ‘Holy Diver’, ‘Sacred Heart’ and ‘Last in Line’ are being re-released this month. As well as a re-mastered version of the original album, these reissues each feature a bonus CD containing lots of extra material including B sides, the EP and live tracks. There is also an expanded booklet with notes from Malcolm Dome. The reissues have been endorsed by Ronnie’s widow Wendy Dio.

As you’d expect from the remastered version of the album it sounds great. This is a superb album that has stood the test of time.

The bonus disc contains eight songs recorded live at the Pinkpop festival in Holland back in 1984 as well as six other live tracks from single B sides. The quality of the recordings is excellent and its great to hear these live versions, particularly as they arent limited to songs by Dio (the band) but also include songs from Ronnie James Dio’s time with Rainbow and Black Sabbath.

If you’re a fan of Dio or Rainbow then I’d definitely recommend buying this reissue – the bonus material alone makes it a great addition to any metal fans album collection.

The Deluxe edition of ”The Last in Line” is out now.

Track listing:

Disc one

1.
