{"id":1696,"date":"2012-05-20T21:36:33","date_gmt":"2012-05-20T21:36:33","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-05-20T21:36:33","modified_gmt":"2012-05-20T21:36:33","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.livestagemusic.com\/?p=1696","title":{"rendered":"Kobra and The Lotus &#8211; Album, single, video, Guns N Roses support slots&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW ALBUM DUE IN AUGUST, PRECEDED BY SINGLE\/VIDEO \u2018FOREVER ONE\u2019, WITH DOWNLOAD APPEARANCE PLUS JUDAS PRIEST &#038; GUNS N\u2019 ROSES GUEST SPOTS CONFIRMED IN SUPPORT\u2026<\/p>\n<p>KOBRA AND THE LOTUS \u2013 the five-piece group fronted by powerful vocalist Kobra Paige \u2013 will release their debut, self-titled album on August 6th 2012 via Spinefarm Records.<br \/>\nProduced by Kevin Churko (whose previous credits include both Five Finger Death Punch &#038; Ozzy Osbourne), this 10-track outing has an intentionally grand-scale dynamic, revelling in the glories of the genre and making its mark as arena rather than garage rock; precisely delivered music, still heavy with emotion.<br \/>\nCommenting on the record, songwriter &#038; no-holds-barred performer Kobra divulged\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the songs do have more specific meanings \u2013 for example, \u2018Heaven\u2019s Veins\u2019 is about addiction, \u2018Calm Before the Storm\u2019 is about children born into troubled situations, \u2018pearls in the ashes\u2019, and \u201850 Shades Of Evil\u2019 is about greed, about the constant desire for more\u2026 but, by and large, the theme is one of hope, of finding a way through dark situations\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do have broad musical tastes, but by choice I\u2019m a heavy metal fan, and I\u2019m truly excited with the album we\u2019ve just finished. It\u2019s rooted in the great history of the music, the escapism and the larger than life imagery, which is something I\u2019m very comfortable with, but it\u2019s for a new generation too, and it\u2019s delivered 100 per cent from the heart!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>KOBRA AND The Lotus \u2013 signed to Simmons Records, and released internationally by Spinefarm \u2013 will be coming to the UK to guest with both Judas Priest and Guns N\u2019 Roses in late May, then appearing at the Download Festival in June.<br \/>\nIn support of this activity, \u2018Forever One\u2019 \u2013 the lead single \/ video from the new album \u2013 will be released digitally on May 28th.
