Industrial metal legends Fear Factory reformed in 2010 after a long absence, and quickly signalled that their decade long break was over by releasing the excellent ”Mechanize” album. Now just two years later they’re releasing their latest album, ”The Industrialist”. The band have described how it compares to the last album, \u201cThere\u2019s definitely been an evolution from that record to this one,\u201d states Burton C Bell. \u201cIt\u2019s still familiar, very familiar and still very Fear Factory but there are elements that we didn\u2019t really get to on the last record for the sake of metal.\u201d
\nDino Cazares has compared The Industrialist to the band\u2019s longstanding 1995 classic Demanufacture. \u201cDemanufacture took what we had done before and broke all that down to create something new. We had some of the same intentions on the new record. Break it all down and build it all back up. It\u2019s noisier. It has more Industrial influences. It\u2019s more Fear Factory and it just poured out of us.\u201d<\/p>\n
So the band are keen to compare the new album to some of their best work, but what’s it really like? Well the answer to that is ”Bloody good”. It’s a powerful album – definitely Fear Factory at the top of their game. The powerful guitars and bass plus the pounding drums give the music a raw industrial feel that will appeal to fans of both industrial music and metal, and the powerful vocals are the final touch to make things work perfectly.<\/p>\n
Fear Factory prove with this album that they are not planning on going soft any time soon – this is heavy as f**k industrial metal and is an album that you really should check out.<\/p>\n
