In retrospect I can´t help wondering if it was a call to find out if the other ex-members of THE RUNAWAYS were into the idea of a reunion, which seems to be happening. The aim here is apparently to make music that helps people through hard times, and that requires cozy refrains and a lot of Lita´s 80´s music. Her previous outing, “Wicked Wonderland” was a sleeping pill compared to her glories of old, so I hope this one is destined to see many people out of the darkness and into the light.

Opener “Branded” has some nice energy and a stubborn refrain, but also some gloom. Wee, it sure beats the album before this. “Hate” is a bit too basic for my liking, but still an improvement over the latest disc, plus the opener. The title track shows some depth, and some thinking behind the lyrics, more of this please. The soft ballad “Mother” makes me think that all is forgiven, only to a few tracks on be topped by the effortless and convincing “Asylum”. But the choice of covering the NIKKI SIXX penned “A Song to Slit Your Wrists By” is ill-conceived if you want to make people happy, and the non-descript modernity of “Devil in My Head” is not exactly an aspirin… But all in all LITA FORD is heading in the right direction!

Track List
Branded
Hate
The Mask
Living Like a Runaway
Relentless
Mother
Devil in My Head
Asylum
Love 2 Hate U
A Song to Slit Your Wrists By

www.spv.de www.myspace.com/litaford

SPV/Playground The title here refers to Lita´s early days of girl band splendor, as well as the bad days of her life.
