The release will be preceded by a single, \u2018John Condon\u2019, released on 11th November 2012. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018John Condon\u2019 is a haunting account of a fourteen-year-old boy\u2019s role in WW1. Mary sang on the original demo recording of this song in 2003, which subsequently became something of a modern folk classic, and it will feature on her forthcoming album with a stunning new vocal. Formerly the lead singer in well-known 90s folk band D\u00e9anta, Mary has had a long absence from the music scene, but returns with a renewed energy after 15 years to release an acoustic album of Irish folk songs old and new. <\/p>\n<p>The track can be streamed here: <a href=\"http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/marydillon\/john-condon\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/marydillon\/john-condon<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Mary shares the pure and haunting vocal tone associated with her younger sister Cara Dillon, one of the biggest names on the UK and international folk scene. North will showcase the unique quality and maturity of Mary\u2019s voice through a diverse collection of folk songs from the Ulster singing tradition. <\/p>\n<p>The album was recorded in Mary\u2019s home town of Dungiven, Co. Derry, and co-produced with her nephew Odhr\u00e1n Mullan.
