LEGENDARY GERMAN ROCKERS CONFIRM THE RELEASE OF NEW STUDIO ALBUM, \u2018STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL\u2019, FOR JANUARY 21st 2013 VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS + ONE-OFF UK HEADLINE SHOW AT THE LONDON FORUM ON APRIL 16th!<\/p>\n
THE FOLLOW-UP to their 2010 \u20187 Sinners\u2019 release, \u2018Straight Out Of Hell\u2019 is the latest studio album to be issued beneath the celebrated Helloween banner \u2013 a banner first unfurled back in 1985.<\/p>\n
Set for release via Spinefarm Records on January 21st 2013, \u2018Straight Out Of Hell\u2019 has been produced by Charlie Bauerfeind, who also worked on \u20187 Sinners\u2019, and sees the five musicians maintaining a rawer edge throughout, working quickly in the studio (MiSueno Studio in Tenerife) and delivering 13 brand new compositions that, in the words of founding member, guitarist Michael Weikath, will \u201ckick even the laziest listener\u2019s ass!\u201d<\/p>\n
Bristling with positive energy, songs such as \u2018Make Fire Catch The Fly\u2019, \u2018Far From The Stars\u2019 and the title track itself, written by bassist Markus Grosskopf, show that when Helloween push their collective foot to the floor they are never too keen to ease off the gas ; and they take chances, ever willing to use their well-documented virtuosity to break out of the mould..<\/p>\n
Says singer Andi Deris: \u201cWe\u2019ve always followed our own path when it comes to music\u2026 and if someone had ever tried to stop us, well, we\u2019d have done what we wanted, anyway! Some of our moves have attracted negative reactions at first, but in time they\u2019ve gone on to reap success and reward, and that\u2019s the kind of freedom you can feel on this new album \u2013 we don\u2019t allow ourselves to be put under pressure\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
With Deris, Weikath, Grosskopf (also a founding member) and guitarist Sascha Gerstner all providing material, \u2018Straight\u2026\u2019 is a passionate, multi-layered affair, complete with a limited edition premium package featuring a special Hammond organ run-through of Weikath outing, \u2018Burning Sun\u2019 \u2013 this version conceived as a tribute to Deep Purple\u2019s Jon Lord.<\/p>\n
As for first single \/ video, that\u2019s now confirmed as \u2018Nabatea\u2019 \u2013 a seven minute-plus composition about the legendary kingdom, located in today\u2019s Middle East, where the first real democracy existed over 3000 years ago. The secret Nabatean city, Petra, only discovered last century, is the backdrop for many myths and legends, and here it provides the ideal subject matter for a set of lyrics far removed from the rock \u2018n\u2019 roll norm.<\/p>\n
On the live front, meanwhile, Helloween (fresh from appearing at prestigious Japanese Festival, Loud Park) will be returning to the road in March 2013 \u2013 the first part of a world tour set to kick off in mainland Europe, with Gamma Ray as special guests. The follow-up to the \u2018Hellish Rock Tour\u2019 of 2007 \/ 2008, this extended outing (\u2018Hellish Rock Part II\u2019) will bring the band to the UK on April 16th for a one-off date at the London Forum.<\/p>\n
