The title track has a more gritty riff, and leans far more in the direction of DIO. The moving balladry of “How Am I” reminisces of RICHARD MARX, and is a fine contribution to the overall impression. “Get Ready” has a ring of the formula that brought THE SCORPIONS to fame around 1984 while EUROPE seems to be the inspiration for “Your Love” and WHITESNAKE might has something to do with the way “Once Bitten” sounds. Plenty of pedigree to borrow from, but still the spark is only around at times. “Reckless” is the JOURNEY of all journeys, a flirt with AOR complete with the cozy keyboard pattern, and arguably NUBIAN ROSE´s finest moment. The ending is a bit of a bore. To make sure no one misses out on the bands 80´s addiction they do a cover of the old OZZY and LITA FORD chestnut “Close My Eyes Forever”, and the album close “Sister” is a bore with lots of punk in the mix. Sorry, but I can´t quite join the choir of admirers for this album, but it is a rather solid effort nevertheless.

Track List
Ever See Your Face
Mountain
Living for Tomorrow
How Am I
Get Ready
Your Love
Once Bitten
Reckless
Close My Eyes Forever
Sisters

www.nubianrose.com

Funklord Dynasty NUBIAN ROSE seems pretty much a vehicle for the charismatic front woman Sofia Lilja.
