{"id":2479,"date":"2013-03-13T12:24:39","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T12:24:39","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2013-03-13T12:24:39","modified_gmt":"2013-03-13T12:24:39","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.livestagemusic.com\/?p=2479","title":{"rendered":"Christopher Cross releases Live 2CD and DVD on  8th April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Christopher Cross returns with his first live release \u201cA Night In Paris\u201d on 2CD+DVD to be released on April 8th, 2013 via earMUSIC<\/p>\n<p>After the release of the studio album \u201cDoctor Faith\u201c, Christopher Cross started one of his biggest tours in Europe in the last 15 years. \u201cA Night In Paris\u201d is the first live 2CD\/DVD by Christopher Cross, which was filmed at the notorious Theatre Le Trianon in Paris, France in April 2012.  It will be released on April 8th, 2013 via earMUSIC.<br \/>\nWhile the previous tours showed a more acoustic (at times even jazzy) approach, Cross decided that for the \u2018Doctor Faith\u2019 tour he would go back to his musical roots and expanded his band to include a more classical \u201crock line-up\u201c: Andy Suzuki (keyboards, sax), Dave Beyer (drums), Chazz Frichtel (bass, vocals), Kiki Ebsen (keyboards, vocals), Richie Gajate Garcia (percussion) and famous sound engineer Ross Pallone (Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, Elton John&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>Filmed by 9 cameras in HD, the show captures Cross playing all his classic singles and new material from the album \u201cDoctor Faith\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>The 90 minutes show is impeccable, the new material is fused beautifully with all the songs the audience is expecting. The wonderful theatre gives the concert a magical atmosphere. Songs like \u2018Sailing\u2019, \u2018Ride Like The Wind\u2019 and \u2018Arthur\u2019s Theme\u2019, sound simply perfect placed beside the most recent songs like \u2018Leave It To Me\u2019 and \u2018November\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>ABOUT THE ARTIST<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Cross\u2019 impressive career started in 1981 with an album that is still considered one of the best and most successful debuts in the history of rock. His self-titled debut LP was instantly rewarded by critics as a \u201crock masterpiece\u201c and in only a few months, three tracks conquered the #1 worldwide (\u2018Ride Like The Wind\u2019, \u2018All Right\u2019 and \u2018Sailing\u2019).  Cross won 5 Grammy Awards in 1981 including Best New Artist and Best Song (\u2018Sailing\u2019).<br \/>\nThe album cover displaying the iconic flamingo sold 20 million copies worldwide. Cross always made the quality of his music coherent and the artistic integrity was always top of his priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Album after album he kept delivering great song writing, soulful performances and a high level of musicianship. This way he \u201csurvived\u201d the success with his original mix of rock, soul and blues, mixed with his sensibility and unique voice.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years Christopher Cross\u2019 music gained the respect and appreciation of some of the best musicians in the world, as the list of his outstanding musical collaborations shows: Don Henley &#8211; Eagles, Michael McDonald &#8211; The Doobie Brothers, Brian Wilson &#8211; Beach Boys are just a few of the numerous artists Cross has worked with. One collaboration, which deserves a special mention, is the work with Burt Bacharach in 1984 for the song \u2018Arthur\u2018s Theme\u2019 for which he won an Oscar.<\/p>\n<p>Cross recorded and toured regularly, while his back-catalogue and his anthologies never stopped being best sellers, and his songs always remained among the most played on the radio worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Christopher Cross released the critically acclaimed record \u201cDoctor Faith\u201d \u2013 his first album with new material in 12 years.
