Breaking news: Blur comes to Sziget<\/p>\n
The legendary British band and the winner of the Best European Major
\nFestival award finally joined forces: Blur is a confirmed headliner of Sziget!
\nThe organizing team happily announces the long-awaited Sziget debut of Blur, the
\niconic rock band that earlier this year also received a Brit Award for lifetime
\nachievements. Speaking about playing live in 2013 the band said:
\n\u201cEvery show next summer will be very special \u2013 we can\u2019t wait to get out and play for
\nall our lovely fans who we haven\u2019t seen for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n
Blur became world famous in the 90s with records including Parklife and The Great
\nEscape and hits such as ”Girls & Boys”, ”Country House”, ”Song 2\u201d \u201cEnd Of A
\nCentury\u201d, \u201cTo The End\u2019 and \u201cBeetlebum\u201d making them one of the bands of the
\ndecade.<\/p>\n
In 2009 the band came together to play a series of UK shows including two sold out
\ndates at Hyde Park in London and a historic Sunday night appearance at Glastonbury
\nFestival. A film about Blur, No Distance Left To Run, was released in 2010.
\nEarlier this year, Blur wrote two new songs ahead of their massive sold out show in
\nLondon’s Hyde Park to mark the closing of the Olympic Games. The songs \u201cThe
\nPuritan\u201c and \u201cUnder The Westway\u201c were debuted live on Twitter via a worldwide
\nvideo stream from a London rooftop.<\/p>\n
And twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 also saw Blur 21:
\nThe Box, the band’s body of work compiled and gathered together into one box.
\n2013 will see Blur\u2019s first appearance at Sziget Festival, rocking the main stage in
\nfront of the world\u2019s probably most international audience.<\/p>\n
