Tyrolen – Vår tids största tidsmaskin

Äntligen är det dags för årets upplaga av MuskelRock. Den tredje i ordningen. På mycket kort tid har MuskelRock lyckats skapa en unik tillställnig där folk från hela världen strömmar till, utan att det skall behöva vara en stor festival. Festivalorganisatören Jacob Hector har valt att ha en trevlig oldschool-tillställning med en fantastisk atmosfär i naturgläntan utanför Alvesta. Tyrolen som MuskelRock befinner sig på är ett gammalt klassisk dansställe som är bevarad sedan femtiotalet. Världsunik i sitt slag med alla bevarade målningar och artiraller som femtio år gamla bilar och tivoli med mersmak.

Runt 1500 musikälskare i alla åldrar har intagit Tyrolen för att se band som WOLF, Girlschool, 77´, Blaze och OZ...

After witnessing a majestic Dimmu Borgir show with the National orchestra and choir on a Saturday night, the Sunday brought another special concert in the land of the vikings. This time it was held a bit further away from the city center, at the [Henie Onstad Arts Center ](http://www.hok.no) which offered an interesting collection of black&white concert photography from the 70s, 80s and 90s in one of its indoor exhibitions. But the event we gathered there for took place on the outdoor stage, build in the idea of a small amphitheater with the round space in front of the stage and circular stairs on which people could sit. The cozy part was that you could actually sit on a hill with grass which started right behind these rows of chairs...

The concert that took place at Oslo Spektrum on May 28th 2011 might have been once in a life time experience, considering the amount of work, preparations, rehearsals and arrangements that are needed to make it happen. Of course there’s going to be at least a TV airing of it, if not a DVD, but the live atmosphere and goosebumps are not properly reproduced by a digital media.

About 9700 people fit in the arena for a regular concert, but there were probably way less since the scene needed for all the orchestra and choir members was rather huge. But there was still a decent amount of people, some standing in front of the stage, others sitting on the chairs displayed like in a regular hockey arena, a thing that is not so bad after all since it offers good visibility...

Det var väl egentligen rätt självklart för Roger Waters att damma av The Wall. Idén i den forne Pink Floydbasistens huvud måste ha varit en så kallad no brainer. För vilken mer eller mindre grånad fan av sjuttio- och åttiotalets gränslöst uppumpade och uppblåst påkostade stadiumanpassade rock kan motstå en mastodontshow uppbyggd kring ett av världens bäst säljande album någonsin? Inte många, kan jag tänka, och när nu Waters dessutom inte behövde tjafsa och kompromissa vad gäller visionerna med David Gilmour och resten av gänget tedde sig projektet säkerligen som en våt dröm.

Som om detta inte var nog har Waters själv antytt att det här förmodligen är hans svanesång på scen...

Stilbildare, storsäljare och lustigt nog, till och med inte sällan något av kritikerfavoriter. Rushmedlemmarna Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson och Neal Peart kan sätta många titlar på sina visitkort, och på Malmö Arena visade bandet prov på en nästan osannolik vitalitet trots att svindlande trettiosju år har förflutit sedan den självbetitlade debuten släpptes. I och för sig borde man inte vara förvånad, ryktet om deras professionalism hade onekligen föregått dem innan jag nu slutligen fick chansen att bilda mig en egen uppfattning. Trions samspel under den nästan tre timmar långa spelningen var knivskarpt, och spelglädjen fanns där onekligen bara man bemödade sig med att se bortom all teknisk perfektionism.

Det finns liksom trots allt en uppenbar lekfullhet i det Rush gör...

– Det var länge sedan, sade en leende Sade inledningsvis, och det om något var väl ett understatement. Enligt förhandsuppgifterna var det nämligen hela tjugofem år sedan hon besökte Danmark senast. På tiden, om ni frågar mig, och utan att nu gå händelsena i förväg är det bara att konstatera att det här var någon som var väl värd att vänta på.

Men någonstans kändes det fullt programenligt också som om inte så överdrivet mycket hänt sedan mitten på åttiotalet, vilket faktiskt enbart är menat som något positivt. För Sade var en unik artist då det begav sig, och det är hon fortfarande...

A festival that’s been around for almost 20 years and one that we feel is definitely starting to get the recognition it deserves. Taking it’s place as one of the UK’s best family festivals with some of the best toilets we’ve seen at any festival and an amazingly beautiful short walk from not only the carpark to the festival site but also to the campsite. All this while still hosting to a large capacity of about 25,000.

IT BEGAN WHERE FRIDAY ENDED
Arriving late Friday night I parked my car, got my wristband, and entered the festival, all within about 15 minutes… Amazing!

Being late in the evening one of the first things spotted was everyone with a smile on their face enjoying a beer or other refreshing beverage.

Den lilla festivalen Popadelica hade sålt slut på sina 2000 biljetter redan innan portarna öppnades. Snart vimlade Huskvarnas Folkets Park av poppare uppblandat med diverse annat folk från framförallt Jönköpingstrakten. För även om den nu 6 år gamla festivalen försökt bredda sig lite med band som Graveyard och Royal Republic är det ändå pop som den här festivalen andas och lever för.

Medelåldern på besökarna är långt ifrån hög och det poppigt barnsliga förstärks av upphängda gungor, tutor och pysselhörn. Folkparken med dess tre scener har helt enkelt blivit en väldigt trevlig plats att ha en försommarfestival på och vädret hade knappast kunnat bli bättre.

Med en inte alltför spännande line-up och ett största namn på Daniel Adams-Ray ...

Tonights show is going to be a busy night – five bands on one bill. Originally advertised as a Houston headlining tour, it was later changed to a Houston/Crashdiet co-headlining tour, but judging by the queue outside where most people seem to be wearing Crashdiet T-shirts then you could easily assume it was a Crashdiet headlining tour. Tonight Crashdiet will be headlining (they’ve been alternating with Houston), and judging by reports from other shows where Houston have headlined and half the crowd have left after Crashdiet then its probably a good job that Crashdiet will be the last band to play tonight.

The other bands on the bill tonight are Serpentine and Miss Behaviour, both of whom have been on the rest of this UK tour, and they are joined tonight by Vega.

Introduction
One of our favourite festivals for the past couple of years, this year was to be no different!
This was Camp Bestival’s third year, Iiinside have been lucky enough to attend both previous years, and this year we were kindly offered the chance to go again but with a slight difference. The guys down at Get Involved were more than amazing by offering myself the opportunity to take my wife and kid, giving us the chance to cover the event from a point of view of what it was designed for… families.

The event, held at the stunning Lulworth Castle, promised outstanding performances from George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Calvin Harris, The Human League, Ellie Goulding, Madness and much more.

Camp Bestival is a unique family festival experience...
