Cancelled bands at Brutal Assault

We are bringing two unpleasant but necessary changes to the line-up. Due to health reasons, KMFDM and Devourment will not be participating in this year’s Brutal. Believe us, we are very sorry about this situation and will do our best to bring these names to the Czech Republic as soon as possible.

At the same time, however, we are bringing you adequate replacements! Devourment will be replaced in the line-up by the international slam commando Kraanium, while KMFDM’s spot will be taken by PIG, a project of English artist Raymond Watts.

Thank you for your understanding!

The final bands for this year’s Brutal Assault are here

Joining the line-up are American deathcore outfit Filth, Slovak blackened death group Patriarcha, and three Czech bands: the death/black machine Altars Ablaze, Ostrava’s own death/thrashers Nahum, and rock avant-garde icons První Hoře!

Unfortunately, Chelsea Grin and Rise of the Northstar will no longer be participating in this year’s edition. However, we will do our best to bring them to the Fortress at the earliest possible opportunity!

Bands update – Fragile Spectrum of Depth

Plunge into the depths where crushing weight meets chilling fragility. The latest Brutal Assault update expands the line-up with a total of 12 bands.

From the nautical funerals of Ahab and the sludge anthems of the legendary Crowbar, to the post-metal filth of local icons LVMEN and the total sonic terror of Violent Magic Orchestra. Each of these acts defines a distinct shade of darkness.

At the same time, we regret to announce that the American outfit Fallujah will not be performing at this year’s Brutal. Taking their slot on the line-up are their British peers, Cryptic Shift.

Candlemass and Hocico instead of Sisters of Mercy – Brutal Assault

It is with great regret that we must announce Sisters of Mercy will not be performing at this year’s Brutal Assault. The cancellation is due to the band moving up the recording schedule for their new album. We sincerely apologize to all fans of these British icons; we are already in talks to bring them to the fortress for next year’s edition instead.

To balance out the bad news, we have two exciting additions to the lineup! Joining us in Josefov this year are the Swedish masters of epic doom metal, CANDLEMASS, and the Mexican aggrotech/EBM ensemble, HOCICO!

Wow, we really didn’t expect such an avalanche! We received over 140 designs in total for our merch contest, and we want to say a massive THANK YOU to each and every one of you who participated. Going through them was a hell of a job, and since there were so many amazing designs, we’ve decided to ultimately produce two t-shirts based on your submissions. Because of this, voting will take place in two rounds. The first one starts now and runs for exactly 4 days, and the second round will kick off the exact moment the first one ends.

Voting is super simple: visit the post on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1460075889121623, and use the emoji next to the design to vote for your favorite...

Finnish Legends Waltari to Celebrate 30 Years of Their Cult Death Metal Symphony with a Full Orchestra – At Brutal Assault

When Finnish visionaries Waltari released their album Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! Death Metal Symphony in Deep C back in 1995, the music world stood in disbelief. Kärtsy Hatakka and his crew achieved the unthinkable—fusing crushing death metal with the grandeur of a symphonic orchestra and operatic vocals, long before such crossovers were even imagined by others. This wasn’t just a cheap gimmick; it was a total artistic manifesto that redefined the progressive approach to extreme music.

This year marks exactly 30 years since this visionary masterpiece was unleashed, and Brutal Assault will host the only anniversary celebration of this milestone! Waltari will take the stage in the Fortress with a special lineup assembled exclusively for this occasion, joined by the Bohemian Symphony Orch...
