More bands have just landed on the roster. The fortress will echo with the sounds of American death/doom legends Dusk, metalcore veterans Unearth, and Norwegian provocateurs Carpathian Forest.

Health will demonstrate that a heavy sound can be conjured even without distorted guitars and blast-beats, while Antimatter will present their dark songwriting, and Coven will bring the roots of occult rock. Rounding out the update are the Czech purveyors of putrid death metal, Mordloch.

The countdown to our meeting in the fortress is on!

Forget the silent night – we are unleashing the X-Mass Tsunami update, washing away genre boundaries and bringing over 30 new names to the fortress!

From djent masters PERIPHERY and deathcore heavyweights THY ART IS MURDER or FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, through a dark electronic invasion led by CARPENTER BRUT, PERTURBATOR, and KMFDM, to absolute legends CRADLE OF FILTH and KATATONIA.

A hefty dose of death and thrash is here — we’re bringing you 12 bands oscillating between technical precision, sheer intensity, and raw brutality. Last year, Grave delivered one of the best death-metal performances we’ve ever seen in their original lineup, so we simply had to book them again. The legends Monstrosity will play a very special set made up solely of tracks from Imperial Doom and Millennium. Australian thrash will be represented by underground cult heroes Mortal Sin, Demolition Hammer will make a major comeback after a long hiatus and Left to Die will bring the very best from Death’s early era. Slam crew PeelingFlesh will make their Fortress debut, and it will also be their only European festival appearance of the summer.

This American icon is impossible to simply describe or categorize—and that’s exactly what makes them one of the most entertaining, strangest, and most original phenomena on the metal scene. Formed in the mid-80s, their unique style feels as if it comes from an alternate universe where funk, metal, punk, avant-garde, and absurdity follow entirely different laws of physics.

In the summer of 2026, they will arrive at the Josefov fortress for the very first time, and we can’t wait to experience their truly unique performance!

Drop the tune, put the bandana on and… boom! Big portion of core bands, exactly as we promised! We’ve already announced Body Count with Ice-T, but let’s remind them! The Swedish Clawfinger, Ratos de Porao from Brazil, and American legends Terror and H20 (go!) must not escape your attention either. But you definitely shouldn’t overlook the other bands in our update pack: rising stars of Manchester crossover Guilt Trip, plus Paleface Swiss, who deserve their own category for the sheer brutality of their breakdowns, and the veterans of progressive metal, Protest the Hero.

Ice-T and Body Count for Brutal Assault

Get your body bags ready — the legendary American outfit BODY COUNT is coming to Josefov.

The band founded in 1990 by rapper Ice-T and guitarist Ernie C will perform in the Josefov fortress for the very first time, and it will be their only summer show in Central and Eastern Europe.

Darkness is coming — we’re bringing you five acts that will unleash a massive dose of black metal in the Josefov fortress next summer.

Leading this wave is the collaborative project between Misþyrming and Nergal, who will bring to life Behemoth’s legendary debut album Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic). Borknagar, The Laws, Tormentor, and Witch Club Satan are joining too!
