The long-awaited Sziget gig of Blink-182 is finally happening! 11 August (Day -1) is the date and some more acts will be announced for the same day, later on. Other new names in the 2014 Sziget line-up include Cee Lo Green and Jimmy Eat World, plus now it’s official that Casper, A Day To Remember and Fedde le Grand will all come to Budapest, playing on Day 0. Weekly Passes still available for the reduced Advance Round 1 prices till 30 April, so it makes sense to hurry up!

After years of waiting, one of the most popular American pop-punk bands, Blink-182 will finally hit the stage at Sziget Festival this year. Looking back on a career of more than 20 years this trio from California has sold millions of records and has countless fans all over the globe...

En festival är så mycket mer än banden på scenerna. Precis som under premiäråret 2013 kommer Bråvalla att erbjuda en helhetsupplevelse som få andra festivaler kan matcha. I luckorna mellan favoritartister och några av landets främsta komiker kommer det att finnas en hel del att sysselsätta sig med. Dessutom kommer våghalsen Gregory V Roe försöka slå ett spektakulärt rekord i 60 meter fritt fall!

På det 4500 kvadratmeter stora aktivitetsområdet kommer alla festivalbesökare att kunna prova på en rad aktiviteter, bland annat kommer det att finnas en över sju meter hög klättervägg samt ett bigbagjump, där den som känner sig manad kan få hoppa från tio meters höjd...

I dag kan Bråvalla presentera ytterligare nytillskott till sommarens festival. Bland de artister som släpps i dag märks bland annat de tre kritiker- och publikfavoriterna Bombay Bicycle Club, Earl Sweatshirt samt The War on Drugs.

Redan innan det brittiska indiebandet Bombay Bicycle Club fullängdsdebuterade med 2009-års ”I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose” hade hypen vuxit sig stark på hemmaplan. Skivan sålde snabbt guld och etablerade Bombay Bicycle Club som ett av 2000-talets mest intressanta brittiska band. I januari släpptes gruppens fjärde album ”So Long, See You Tomorrow” och Bombay Bicycle Clubs form fortsatte att peka uppåt – skivan blev deras första Englandsetta.

Earl Sweatshirt uppmärksammades först som en av medlemmarna i det omtalade, Los Angeles-baserade hiph...

Även i år kör Hellfest med en egen festivalapp. Planeringshjälp och kartor och nyheter erbjuds, och med över 10 000 hämtningar på bara Google Play (sedan tillkommer ju de med Iphone) har det redan blivit en given festivalkompanjon. Bli med andra ord inte förvånad om du åker till festivalen och massor av besökare går runt helt disträ med mobilskärmen upptryckt i ansiktet.

Det första en möts av är helt enkelt en bildackompanjerad lista med alla band i bokstavsordning. Det märks verkligen hur otroligt många band det är när det presenteras på det här sättet. Du kan få fram en flik med spelschemat, som i appen visar speltiderna sorterat efter scen...

Drake, Stevie Wonder, Manu Chao La Ventura och Deftones är några av de 67 nya akter som i dag presenteras till programmet för Roskildefestivalen 2014. Sedan tidigare är bl. a. The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Outkast och Damon Albarn bekräftade till lineupen, som nu består av 156 akter från fler än 30 olika länder. Svenska akter bokade till festivalen är Lykke Li, Icona Pop, Jenny Wilson, I Break Horses, Say Lou Lou, Bombus, Fire! Orchestra, Tempel, DNKL, Franskild, Iberia, Könsförrädare, Nause, RA, Shadow Shadow och Slöa knivar.

New names were added to the always colorful line-up of Sziget Festival. All genres will be covered this year as well, so Deadmau5, Axwell, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Kooks, Crystal Fighters, Anti-Flag will be great add-ins to the previously announced acts like Queens of the Stone Age, The Prodigy, Placebo, Imagine Dragons and many more. The Island of Freedom is held between 11-18 August in Budapest. Tickets for discounted ‘Advance round 1’ prices are available till 30 April.

Sziget is known for its diverse musical world and 2014 will also be dedicated to this open-minded tradition. To the already announced names, organizers added many exciting new performers, who will definitely keep the audience moving both in front of the stages and also wandering from one venue to the other.
