Onward Chariots is the brainchild of Ben Morss, a multi-instrumentalist and self professed music geek whose journey to This Is My Confession is peppered with eclecticism. In a life filled with music, Morss has toured the world, played with the California acid-jazz group 11:11 at festivals such as NXNW and SXSW, conducted orchestras, played gospel in African-American churches, arranged and played on albums for artists like Cake, and immersed himself in the works of Peter Bjorn & John, Belle & Sebastian, Yo La Tengo and The Beatles.

Late March sees the release of Transvision Vamp’s first two highly successful album releases from the late 1980s, Pop Art and Velveteen. The albums are being released as 2-CD sets, each featuring a bonus disc of B-sides and rarities.

Signing to MCA in 1986, British rock-pop act Transvision Vamp enjoyed massive chart success in the UK and abroad before disbanding in early 1992. In late 1987 they released a cover version of the Holly and the Italians song, Tell That Girl To Shut Up and a few months later their follow-up single, I Want Your Love, which made number 5 in the UK charts. Their debut album, Pop Art was released in October of that year, reaching the British Top 5.

Pop Art was Transvision Vamp’s debut album and is celebrating its 25th anniversary with this 2CD re-issue.

Borlängegrabbarna har under loppet av tio år släppt ifrån sig fem stycken studioalbum som sålt mer än 1,5 miljoner exemplar runt om i världen vilket gör dem till ett av våra internationellt mest framgångsrika band på den här sidan millennieskiftet. JULIAN COPE – ST JULIAN DELUXE EDITION

Saint Julian was the first album recorded by Julian Cope for Island Records, following his two albums on the Mercury label.

Encouraged by his new manager, Cope changed his image: cutting his hair, wearing rocker’s leathers and embracing a ”Rock God” perspective (as well as investing in a bizarre climbable microphone stand (with integral steps).

To record and tour the album, Cope put together a new backing group, this featured lead guitarist Donald Ross Skinner and drummer Chris Whitten and James Eller (who’d played alongside Cope on the second Teardrop Explodes album, Wilder) and Cope himself on vocals and rhythm guitar.

Starting with her 1979, Rick James-produced debut, Wild and Peaceful, Teena Marie’s many soul and R&B hits include “Square Biz,” “Behind the Groove,” “I Need Your Lovin’,” “Fire and Desire,” “Lovergirl” and “Ooo La La La,” a song famously sampled by the Fugees.
