Foreigner have been around for over thirty years and produced plenty of classic hit songs during their career and released several albums that went Multi-Platinum, so its nice to see that the band are still looking to try new things. Acoustique is as the name suggests, an acoustic album – the band’s first one. As…
Lion Music/Warner Guitarist and band leader of INFINITY OVERTURE, is the position NIELS VEJLYT normally holds. But here he unleashes his guitar, and throws in a facts and instructional DVD. After years as an on-line guitar instructor this album may seem overdue. But to display his ability he has enlisted some of the best backing…
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album, Hit and Run, Girlschool have chosen to revisit the album and rather than just remixing it, have chosen instead to re-record it. I’m always wary when people decide to mess with a classic – ”if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it”, and changing a classic…
Music Buy Mail/Sound Pollution Norwegians THE WHEEL may sound like a spoof, three Norwegians and a Russian bass player, but the last laugh will be on you. Since 2007 they have been strutting their stuff, which equals to a love of all things FREE, LED ZEPPELIN, VAN HALEN, SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS etc. I´d personally…
Escape Music/Border ILIUM is an Aussie band, a power metal outfit from Newcastle, and outspoken guardians of classic heavy metal in the vein of IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and BLACK SABBATH. First known as ILIAD back in 1998, they now have four releases under their belt. Since their orevious release, “Ageless Decay”, the vocal spot…
German dark power metal band BRAINSTORM have been around since the late nineties, releasing no less than nine full-length albums, and a bunch of other outings, including a DVD and a Best of. I may not have been euphoric about the previous effort, ”Memorial Roots”, but as their forthcoming ”On the Spur of the Moment”…
Frontiers/BAM To the discerning AOR fan, WORK OF ART needs no introduction these days. But in 2007 old school friends Herman Furin, drums, Robert Säll, guitars, convinced Lars Säfsund, vocals and keyboards to finally help them finalize an idea from back in 1982. The ensuing debut album “Art Work” was hailed as a comet on…
