The Metaldays gather new bands for next year’s line-up… and today the first headliner is announced!

A monolith of extreme metal, a giant beast of musical mayhem is coming to town to bring darkness and destruction over the lovely valley of Soca and to destroy all unworthy forms of life at Metaldays. And we will welcome them with arms wide open: Behemoth are coming to the Metaldays 2015 and if that’s still not enough destruction for you, please welcome Kataklysm. The name has its origins in the Greek: “a monomentous and violent event marked by overwhelming upheaval and demolition; (…) the end of the world as we know it.” That sounds like the cleaning service has to do some extra hours next year. Detta är en festival som passar de flesta, under 3 dagar så erbjuder de bra mångfald utav underhållning på 6 stycken scener. Här återfinns musik ifrån de flesta musik generar men även annan underhållning som stand up och karuseller.

Festivalen påminner lite om Hultsfreds Festivalen i sina glansdagar. Även om den snabbt blivit störst så märker man att den har ambitioner att växa ännu mera. Campingområdet är stort och kan rymma en hel del fler tält/husvagnar, men vad som är än mer tilltaget är själva festivalområdet vilket gör att de inte har några problem att rymma bra många fler besökare än de som hittat hit...

Jag har varit i flera länder runtomkring, men just Frankrike har det aldrig blivit. Vad är då bättre än att kombinera första besöket med ett av årets mest lockande festivaler?

Flera legendariska band trängs på samma affisch, flera band som på egen hand vore dragplåster nog för att ge en bra festival. Men Hellfest nöjer sig inte med bara Iron Maiden eller bara Black Sabbath, utan ser envist till att ha med båda två. Och Slayer. Och Emperor. Och 154 band till! Krockarna blir otaliga och oundvikliga, och andrummet mellan spelningar blir knappt. För att avverka över femtio band om dagen gäller det att trycka in allt där det får plats. De sex scenerna är (grovt förenklat) i par om två...

I år lockar Hellfest med både Black Sabbath och Iron Maiden som dragplåster. Nu är det dags för sistnämnda, och publikhavet är enormt. Soltortyren börjar lugna ner sig, och i det svalare alkoholdoftande vädret är energin på topp. Helt smärtfritt är det dock inte. Hela 2014 års upplaga av Hellfest lider av dåligt ljud, och detta gäller även Maiden. När de går på med ”Moonchild” är det svårt att påstå att det låter annat än förjävligt. Visst, det går att uppfatta att de gör bra ifrån sig, och Bruce Dickinson låter verkligen som det flyglarm han blivit känd för, men detta till festivalljud-varianten av en griffeltavla...

For all of you who will arrive already before july, 18th we have a special warming up at the TminRock festival. Tminrock happens at Metaldays 2nd stage and after the regular program we present you with ART KNOCKOUT a Judas Priest tribute band playing all great Priest classics for you. Entrance is free for all Metaldays visitors who have an early arrival wristband.
Welcome and enjoy it!
ART KNOCKOUT was found at the end of 2002. From the very beginning until today, the band is focused on hard rock and heavy metal music. Already after a short time the band decided to go on as Judas Priest tribute band, and since then they made a great name at the club scene as one of the best Judas Priest cover bands around. For all Metaldays early campers, Breaking the law!

Friends, Metaldays is drawing near and things are happening faster with every day now. Please mind, that our 3-day tickets are SOLD OUT. And that therefore there will be NO 3-day tickets available at the gate!
Speaking of faster: orders for week tickets are massive these days, too, and reaching numbers of about 500 sold weekly. Since we have only 1,500 left, well, you guys do the math 😉
