Roskilde Festival continues to announce new music for this year’s line-up.

The organizers of Sziget have announced a new list of all-star names, already confirmed for the 2014 event. In the heart of Budapest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Skrillex, Jake Bugg and London Grammar will also perform. The Island of Freedom is held between 11-18 August.

Har du alltid drömt om att få namnge en festivalscen? Nu har du chansen. Sveriges största festival ska nämligen döpa om sina scener och det görs via en tävling där alla kan lämna förslag. Fram till och med 20 februari kan du lämna dina förslag på vad Bråvallafestivalens scener ska döpas om till.

Under fjolårets succépremiär för Bråvallafestivalen i Norrköping hade scenerna fått sina namn från olika färger. Nu ska festivalens största scener – Blue och Green – samt ytterligare tre scener få nya namn. Fram till och med 20 februari tas förslag emot via Bråvallafestivalens Facebooksida. Därefter kommer en jury att plocka ut de bästa förslagen. Dessa går sedan vidare till en publik omröstning, där de slutgiltiga vinnarna kommer att koras.

Six new names for Rock Werchter 2014. Miles Kane, The Wombats and London Grammar are due at Werchter on Thursday 3 July. Biffy Clyro and Midlake on Saturday 5 July. Bastille joins the bill for Sunday 6 July. As of today, there are 37 names on the Rock Werchter bill. That means we’ve booked about half the bands. More bookings to follow soon.

Extraordinary musical chameleon Damon Albarn brings his first solo album to this year’s Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The line-up also includes dark alternative rock from Interpol and Warpaint.

Damon Albarn incarnates like few others Roskilde Festival’s ambitions: Quality, curiosity and exploration go hand in hand. Throughout his impressive career, he has been around Brit pop, Afro pop, alternative rock and even Chinese opera.

Later in 2014, Damon Albarn releases his first solo album, entitled Everyday Robots, and on that occasion he is confirmed for a live show at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival.

Roskilde Festival’s program director Anders Wahren says:

Roskilde Festival 2014 offers more contemporary US hip hop acts with the mythical Earl Sweatshirt flanked by rising stars A$AP Ferg and World’s Fair.

Earl Sweatshirt is just 19 years old, and he’s already entered the second phase of his career.

Once he was the mysteriously absent member of West Coast collective OFWGKTA, and now he has returned to the stage with his solo album Doris from 2013 which ranks among the most acclaimed hip-hop releases in the past year.

He is now confirmed for a show at this year’s Roskilde Festival in Denmark.

I år är det 30 år sedean Dexter Holland och Greg Kriesel gick på en tumultartad Social Distortion-spelning och kom på att de skulle starta ett eget band. Resultatet blev The Offspring. Vad passar väl bättre än att fira 30 år som band med en spelning på Bråvallafestivalen?

The Offsprings självbetitlade debutskiva släpptes 1989, men det var med uppföljaren ”Ignition” som karriären tog fart för att sedan explodera med 1994-års album ”Smash”. Med draghjälp av singlarna ”Come Out and Play” samt ”Self Esteem” sålde ”Smash” i elva miljoner exemplar, vilket var den dittills största försäljningsframgången för ett band utgivet via ett independentbolag.
