Multi-platinum American rock band, Counting Crows have announced they will be releasing their first new album in over 4 years on 9th April 2012. Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) is a collection of songs, both familiar and obscure, interpreted by one of the most soulful and recognizable bands of the past two decades.

Underwater Sunshine is a testament of a band geek-obsessed with music. “There’s a million great songs written every day that you discover, and wish your friends could appreciate as much as you do,” says singer/songwriter Adam Duritz. “These songs come from bands young and old, stretching from the early 60s to last year. They’re all great and will hopefully be heard by a few more people now.”

“Chasing The Night” is Leeds singer/songwriter Rupert Stroud’s accomplished follow up to his debut album. Mixing alternative, indie, rock and acoustic sounds the album is confident in its eclecticisms. It truly showcases his versatility as a writer and highlights his growing maturity as an artist.

Rupert began writing his debut self titled album in 2008 backing it up with regional tour dates. By 2009 Rupert had found eminent British producer Will Jackson (a member of 80’s band Magna Carta. Will’s previous credits include The Kaiser Chiefs, Embrace, The Cribs, The Music… to name a few). After listening to Rupert’s music Will was adamant in bringing him into the studio to record. The Bag of Bones tour follows 2011’s hugely successful Balls ‘N’ Banners tour, which included a sold-out concert at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire (where Europe filmed their recent live DVD).

Walter Trout has added a new date to his March 2012 UK Tour. The former guitarist for John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Canned Heat, and John Lee Hooker, will play the Boom Boom Club at Sutton Utd Football Club on Tuesday 13th March.

Walter Trout is one of the world’s great guitarists. Having recently celebrated his 20th year as a solo recording artist, Trout’s UK tour precedes the release of his new studio album Blues For The Modern Daze. The album is released by Provogue Records in the UK on Monday 23rd April, the same day Trout performs a session on BBC Radio 2’s Paul Jones Rhythm & Blues Show.

Following the brilliant PEEP EP, the spectral Pinkunoizu are set to release their debut album, Free Time!, on Full Time Hobby. Named after the Japanese word for “pink noise” and based in Copenhagen and Berlin, multiculturalism is at the forefront of this band’s world – they play an exotic mixture of lo-fi, high-life, nu-folklore, ’60s Asian pop and post-apocalyptic future rock. “Most of what I write comes from picking up exciting words or phrases from wherever I stumble upon them,” says chief songwriter Andreas Pallisgaard. “Or maybe it simply comes from floating around like some empty receptor, open to letting the language of the world flow through me.”
