Rainbow are set to release Deluxe Reissues of On Stage and Long Live Rock N’ Roll this November.

Rainbow, lead by the guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore, became synonymous with some of the most well regarded and popular charting Rock songs of the seventies and eighties. From ‘Stargazer’ and ‘Man On A Silver Mountain’ to ‘All Night Long’, ‘Long Live Rock And Roll’ and ‘Since You Been Gone’, each year in the decade of Rainbow was marked by some of the best songs and performances captured both on record and in concert.

The habitants from the village Dobroslavtsi have been trained to endure noise from planes, cause it is a small airport, but on the 22th, 23th and 24th of June you can’t hear the planes – only the three massive stages and the singing crowd for the second edition of Elevation Festival Bulgaria.
The first “warm up day” of the event passed relatively peacefully and with great attendance on Sunday June 23, and thousands of people gathered from all over Bulgaria, who nearly filled the capacity of the location.

A few hours before the concert. There are thousands of people in front of the hall. There are hundred of sings “Looking for tickets”, but none with “Selling”. People with t-shirts, bandanas, body paintings waiting without any patience for everything to start. The picture was beautiful.
This is pretty much the expectation for a band like Red Hot Chili Peppers. They have been in Top 10 for decades for their talented, yet very different music and to be here in a small country like Bulgaria was a one life chance.
At exactly 20h everyone was inside the hall in ecstatic mood. On there stage, though, were an English band, called As Able As Kane. They are from the rave generation and had kind of a career in late 80s...

I’m embarrassed to say that that I’ve been listening and loving the music, called ska, right now, cause I heard the name Baked A La Ska just a week ago. They refer to themselves as the “heavy heavy sound” of Manchester, a super charged 11-headed ska monster on a rampage through the dance floors of the UK, leaving a trail of skanked out bodies in their wake. Being guilty for starting this band is their keyboardist – Mr. John Ellis. The lead singers are three and again I’ll quote – “an un-holy trio of singers: Frank “The Skank”, Tommy Robot and Kuntri Ranks” as they call themselves. As they are mixing the sounds of harmonica, keyboards, alto/baritone and tenor/soprano saxes, trombone, double bass, guitars and drums, no one can deny their music is quite the eclectic one...

Det är en i det närmsta full lokal som väntar Haparandas hjältar när de kliver på scenen vid midnatt. Och det är en blandad skara folk, allt från stekarfrisyrer till skogshuggarskägg och längst fram – ett gäng gotare. Vad de här lackbeklädda figurerna ser i Raubtiers musik vet jag inte, i vilket fall som helst kan man konstatera att bandet tilltalar många.

Sin vana trogen inleder de med Det finns bara krig, och rusar sen vidare in i Sveriges elit. Det blir mest material från de två första plattorna, men de nya låtarna får ett lika varmt mottagande.

Tyvärr är L’Orient ingen bra konsertlokal. Scenen är så låg så står man inte längst fram är det svårt att se bandet, och ljudet är inte heller optimalt...

Limb Music/Sound Pollution

Italian symphonic epic power metal band FOGALORD began life in 2008, as band leader Dany Ali was looking for ways to display his creative output. Dany first went professional with SYNTPHONIA SUPREMA, and cut two albums with them, before beginning on a concept album of the history of his home town. Will this be more waltz-paced Teutonic metal in Italian cloak?

There are four intros or maybe more since two of them are over two minutes long. They improve as the album progresses. But opening intro “Follow the Fog” is a pompous display of Tolkien influences, coupling with Italian history and probably Wagner. And the first vocal track, “At the Gates of the Silent Storm” doesn´t really convince me. Neither does the 0.27 long “Black Era”...

Infernö Records/Underground Power

TRAZORVYRE was formed in 2008 by Chris Calavrias, lead guitars, and James Murray, rhythm guitars, and the aim was clearly to write and perform heavy metal as if the 80´s had never ended. They first recruited drummer Nick Oakes, a bassist, and vocalist 7-Chylde. A five track EP soon materialized, and was soon re-released as a cassette single by Infernö Records. Oddly enough one of the least engaging songs is the first on offer, not very eighties! There is a sing-along vibe, in thrashy speedy heavy metal fashion, but “The Conjuror (Shaman´s Wrath)” doesn´t quite ignite. Neither does “Another Dimension of Hell” nor “Wind Caller”. Monday at work is present here...

Limb Music/Sound Pollution

Here comes more heavy metal from the land of the Romans. Pisa is famed for its leaning tower, but VEXILLUM wants to make you notice the town´s heavy metal as well. Or at least the Folk heavy metal, as the five members pose proudly in kilts. Back in 2004 they formed as SHADOW VEXILLUM, Scottish kilts were soon added to their stage show and in 2006 vocalist Dario Vallesi joined in. While working on their debut effort they also shortened their name to VEXILLUM, and the demo “Neverending Quest” appeared in 2007. Since then they have released an album “The Wandering Notes”, changed drummers and worked on this one.

They do ride out at first, as “The Wanderers Note” opens with that and a hum. The rest is folky power metal with a slightly husky voice...

Escape/Sound Pollution

REDLINE are a true hard rock band from Birmingham, England. Heard that one before? Well there are a few really famous forerunners… REDLINE formed in 2006 around the prospect of writing nu-classic rock songs. The band consists of Kez Taylor, vocals, A.D., guitars, Steve Petty, guitars, Mark Biddiscombe, drums and Redvers on bass. They might as well be from Barnsley, but the features of undeniably classic British hard rock are there. Their best shot at eternal fame this far seems to be the inclusion of “King of the Mountain” as official soundtrack to the Isle of Man TT Motorcycle Races. This album was recorded and engineered in studios like Mat Hat (MAGNUM, DIAMOND HEAD) and The Old Smithy (TRAPEEZE, JUDAS PRIEST), so what could possibly fuck up?
