Liv Kristine – Libertine

Leave’s Eyes singer Liv Kristine is back with her latest solo album. Libertine is her fourth solo album. Liv has an impressive track record, first as the singer with Trail of Tears and then with Leaves Eyes. While she’s known as a rock/metal singer, her solo albums are more pop/rock. In other words if you’re hoping this is another Leave’s Eyes album under a different name, then think again – it’s quite different but is definitely going to be of interest to a lot of Leaves Eyes fans.

Brief comments on a few of the tracks..

”Solve me” is a fast paced pop-rock song.

”Vanilla skin delight” is a duet with Tobias Regner – a former winner of the German series of Pop Idol. It’s a great track and is an obvious choice to be released as a single at some point.

”Paris Paris” has a definite Blondie ...

Sacred Mother Tongue – A light shines

Northampton band, Sacred Mother Tongue may have only released their debut album in 2009, but since then they’ve played both Download and Sonisphere festivals along with a whole load of tour dates, and have built up a great reputation. With their second album expected for release in late 2012 or early 2013, they’ve released a new EP to keep the fans happy. Although signed to Transcend media, the album is being released in conjunction with EMI which should give the band some extra exposure

What you get here is three new studio recorded tracks plus one live track.

”The city is crying” was recorded on the band’s recent tour of China which included performing at the Hang Zhou West Lake Music Festival

I really can’t understand why Sacred Mother Tongue aren’t much better known and playing much ...

JETTBLACK ANNOUNCE UK ROCKERS NIGHT BY NIGHT AS GUEST SUPPORT FOR UK TOUR…

Night By Night – the five-piece hard rock band from London – will be guest support for JETTBLACK’s debut UK headline tour, set to take place in October of this year.

“This run of dates is something we’re 100% geared up for, as it’s our first ’proper’ headline tour of the UK;
meaning we can deliver a set which represents both albums, ‘Get Your Hands Dirty’ (2010) and ‘Raining Rock’ (2012). We’ve got more flexibility to put on a show, and not fire through the set at 100mph! It’s all about entertaining and leaving (hopefully) with a smile ear to ear, sweaty locks, and a stiff head-bangin neck! The last London date was a sell-out, so get in there quick! Hands shall be Dirtied & Rock will Rain! Can’t wait to see ya!” – Matt Oliver, Jettblack.

Black Country Communion the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, release their third album, ‘Afterglow’, via Mascot Records on Monday October 29th.

Like its two predecessors, ‘Afterglow’ was produced by Kevin Shirley, whose catalogue of hit records for Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and the Black Crowes has made him the hottest producer that rock music has to offer. Shirley – who had the idea of putting Hughes and Bonamassa together in a band after seeing them jam onstage back in 2009 – is the group’s unofficial ‘fifth member’.

The additions of Jason Bonham, es...
